ALPS is a bus line company owned by Perez family here in Batangas. ALPS is short for A.L. Perez & Sons.

They ventured into food business using their 15-year-old phased-out buses restored as a Cafe. The cafe was set up like a bus terminal with different route signs of ALPS buses in Calabarzon posted within the vicinity.

BRIEF BACKGROUND:

Started with a single bus unit back in 1991, ALPS the Bus Inc. has now grown in numbers, services and strength. ALPS is a corporation owned by the Perez family, a native of Batangas.

Formerly led by the head of the family, the late Mr. Arcadio L. Perez from whom the name ALPS was coined.

On January 2013, LTFRB limited public utility buses to 15 years of age which led Mrs. Lourdes Perez-Cleofe, the youngest of the family, with the idea to put old buses into sustainable use.

She engaged with Volada + Silya design and renovated one of their old buses into a coffee shop and restaurant.

They settled on Metro South Events Zone, a food park located at the heart of the city where the first Kapeng Barako was planted in the 1800’s – Lipa City, Batangas.

The cafe business plan and initial set-up was drafted by Mr. Gholem de Castro with the management of Ms. Tara Denisse Cleofe and assistance of Mr. Akim Gabriel Cleofe, children of Mrs. Cleofe. It was named Cade de ALPS.(theweekendgypsy.wordpress.com)
