Villardo Cunamay secures Gold for Philippines

Day 1 of competition was a Four-Gold sweep for the Arnis National team as the national sport of the Philippines returns to the Southeast Asian Games.

The arnis competition was last held during the 2005 SEA Games here at home before it returns this year.

Balayan, Batangas native Villardo Cunamay bags 1 of the 4 gold medals after beating Cambodian foe Mengly Yong in the live stick lightweight division via majority decision.

The arnis competition was held at Angeles University Foundation in Pampanga.
