SENATE APPROVES HOUSE BILL 5160 TO CONVERT STO TOMAS, BATANGAS TO COMPONENT CITY…

Sto Tomas City Batangas !?!

Aprubado na ng Senado ang House Bill 5160 sa ikatlo o huling pagbasa na nagpapatibay sa transpormasyon ng munisipalidad ng Sto Tomas, Batangas para maging isang component city o lungsod.

Ang House Bill No. 5160 ay pinangunahang itinaguyod ni Senator Sonny Angara, ang chair ng Senate Committee on Local Government kung saan ito ay PASADO at nakakuha 19 affirmative votes at zero negative votes.

Sa kanyang speech, inihalintulad ni Angara ang Sto Tomas, Batangas sa bayani at rebolusyunaryong anak mismo ng nabanggit na bayan na si Miguel Malvar na isa sa nanguna sa Philippine revolution.

Aniya ang bayan ng Sto Tomas ay pinapangunahin rin ngayon ang progreso sa mga local government units. Pasok na pasok umano ang laki ng populasyon nito sa hinihinging requirement ng Local Government code para maging City o lungsod.

Ayon sa datos ng Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) ay lagpas 230 million ang average annual income ng Sto Tomas na higit na mas mataas sa 100 million annual income minimum requirement sa dalawang magkasunod na taon.

Ibinida rin ng senador ang pagkakaroon ng 600-megawatt solar panel factory at multinational paints supplier factory ng nabanggit na bayan.
