Shopping Hacks for SM City Lipa’s 3-day Sale
The most awaited sale in town is back as SM City Lipa will be having its 3-day sale on August 30, 31 and September 1.
With up to 70% off on selected items, this bi-annual mall event has been one of the reasons why shoppers tend to plan for their purchases, and who wouldn’t?
Aside from discounts and rebates that can be availed during these three days, special promos and raffles can actually test ones’ luck, for instance, in owning a brand new car.
With that, here are some hacks that has been proven to give more value for a shopper’s time and money.
Hack 1: Plan your Purchases
Planning is a skill and it also goes well with shopping. Purchase planning will save you from impulse buying and directs you from buying what you really need and possibly want not just in the present but for at least in the next three months.
One way to do this is to check your home, your family’s wardrobe, your car, your pet and possibly some future projects.
List down what needs to be replaced, your dream TV or automatic washing machine, and everything that you would need in the future. Afterwards, head on to SM and start canvassing.
Hack 2: Take Advantage of your Advantage Cards aka SM Advantage, SM Prestige and BDO Rewards Cards)
It would be the best time to check the validity of your SM loyalty cards. If you don’t have one, maybe it’s the best time to consider applying. More to this, availing of the SM Advantage Card until August 29 automatically entitles the holder fifty bonus points.
Aside from points to be earned, members have exclusive discount privileges like the additional 5%- 10% discount on top of the discounted prices. These discounts are available at The SM Store, Ace Hardware, SM Appliance Center, Miniso, Surplus Shop, Watsons, Crocs, The Body Shop, Uniqlo and Adidas.
During the sale, it is critical to know the specific times for the SM Advantage Card Sale. For example, only Prestige Card and BDO Diamond Card holders will be given additional discount for the whole day of August 30.
SM Advantage Card and other BDO Rewards card members on the other hand will be given with additional discount from 9:00am to 12 noon on August 31 and on September 1, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
Hack 3: Reserve in Advance
Maybe a lot of people already know this hack. Come early. Like a day early prior to the sale and put in one or two baskets the stuff that you would need to buy for the three day sale. Have a sales staff agree to have those stuff reserved and come back for it the following day.
Now, you don’t have to do the fitting to get the right size of your new shoes, or to have some appliances tested, or to choose on which color of comforters would best fit your room. You just have to get your basket of goodies and go to the nearest cashier.
Hack 4: Credit Card Rebates and Promos
Some credit cards offers financing schemes and rebates that will give value for your money. BDO credit cards for instance gives additional 10% rebate for a minimum purchase of 25,000 and at 5% for a minimum purchase of 8000 pesos at The SM Store.
Other credit cards also offer a buy now pay later scheme and installments, but to make sure, this is probably the best time to call your credit card providers to know more of their promos.
Hack 5: Join the Raffles
After shopping, save your receipts and join the raffles. SM City Lipa will be giving away a brand new Isuzu Swift to one lucky shopper. Raffle coupons can be availed with every 1000 pesos worth of purchase to any shop or restaurant inside SM City Lipa. Redemption booths can be found in front of The Foodcourt.
The SM Store on the other hand, will be giving away 15 units of Bose Solo 5 TV Sound System to 15 lucky shoppers.
To join, a shopper will be given a raffle coupon for every 3000 pesos worth of purchase at The SM Store during the 3-day sale.
Hack 6: Bring Your Own Shopping Bags and Save Earth
Since plastic bag usage is not allowed in Lipa City, the sturdiest and most economical way to carry your purchases is through your own shopping bag. Although re-usable shopping bags can be purchased in-store, buying it would actually defeat the purpose of re-usable bags which is to lessen solid waste.
