The Sushi Box is a Filipino-owned sushi restaurant that started as a small, home-based business in Iloilo City. What started as a simple attempt at making sushi during the 2020 Lockdown quickly became a viral sensation, with almost 30 branches throughout Iloilo, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The Sushi Box’s menu is a mix of Japanese and Filipino-flavors, with the “Pinoy” twist. It’s a fusion of flavors that’s sure to satisfy even the pickiest sushi lover. The Sushi Box also uses only fresh and organic ingredients in their sushi, so it’s always safe to eat.

In 2020, Romer James Gapas and Jalene Gapas became the first franchisees in Southern Luzon covering Batangas and Laguna. They now have 10 branches in those regions and are aiming to open 7 more this year—which would bring them to 17 total locations this 2023!

What started as a small online operation has turned into a massive success, with 30 branches already in operation throughout the Philippines. And the best part is, the franchisor couple Romer James Gapas and Jalene Gapas is just getting started! They plan to have 17 branches open by 2023, covering parts of Manila and North Luzon.
