Things to try in San, Nicolas, Batangas
Aside from taking a boat ride and walking in the Baywalk, some exciting food is a must to try.
To enjoy the travel, travelers can have lunch at a local restaurant that serves the highly uncommon maliputo fish. Maliputo (Caranx ignobilis) is a freshwater fish found in Taal Lake. Also called giant trevally, a maliputo can weigh up to 3 kilos.
The months of August, September, October, and November are the best for catching. Because of its scarcity, its market price might reach 600 pesos per kilogram. It’s a good thing, though, because the cost is justified. There is a recognition for maliputo for its firm and flavorful flesh prepared in various ways depending on your culinary skills.
And there are the well-known tawilis. Unfortunately, they do not have these regularly. Give it a shot.
