SM Green Film Festival Gathers 868 Students from Batangas

A total of 868 students joined in the Green Film Festival of the SM Supermalls at Lipa City and Batangas City last April 10. SM City Lipa cinema accommodated at total of 590 students from Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Lipa while SM Batangas cinema housed 278 students from Lyceum of the Philippines University- Batangas.
Showcased in the festival are the documentary films produced by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, tackling some environmental issues like waste management, air pollution and resiliency to climate change.

The film which inspired students and teachers the most has the part where schools and communities were able to build its own composting facility, thereby reducing wastes.

Composting is a process in which organic, biodegradable wastes are turned into a rich compost, commonly known as garden soil or organic fertilizer.

The Green Film Festival is a film showing simultaneously held among all the SM Supermalls nationwide. It aims to inspire and disseminate information to younger generations on how to properly care for the environment.
