Fire destroys 100 houses near Batangas Port

Hundreds of houses were destroyed by fire near Batangas Port Saturday evening in Barangay Sta Clara, Batangas City.

There is still an ongoing investigation regarding the cause of the fire which started at 5:52 PM and raged for about 5 hours.

In a tweet by Senator Dick Gordon, the head of the Philippine Red Cross, the PRC Batangas Chapter mobilized 3 ambulances, 1 rescue van, and a 6X6 truck at Barangay Sta Clara at around 6:20 PM.

Meanwhile, in a Facebook post by Batangas Filipino Chinese Fire Brigade, “Fire out” status was declared at 10:30 PM.

In a statement released by Batangas City Bureau Of Fire Protection (BFP), FCInsp Elaine Evangelista reiterated that there are NO CASUALTIES on the fire incident.

Colegio ng Lungsod ng Batangas at the moment serves as evacuation center for evacuees.
