The Miss Philippines Earth pageant will crown a new queen tonight, Saturday, July 15 at 7 PM at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Miss Earth Philippines 2016 Loren Artajos will crown her successor, who will become the Philippines’ Earth Ambassador to environmental protection campaigns in the country. The new Miss Earth Philippines will represent the country to one of the biggest international beauty competitions in the world today, the Miss Earth Pageant.

This year’s Miss Philippines Earth pageant will be represented by 40 candidates from different parts of the country who will vie for the much-coveted Miss Earth Philippines crown. The province of Batangas will be represented by two lovely ladies from Lipa City and Lobo.
Miss Vanessa Mae Castillo is a 21-year old BS Psychology graduate at Batangas State University represents the Agro-Ecotourism and Atis Capital of the Philippines Lobo, Batangas. She is currently working as a Recruitment associate in Makati.
Castillo wants to be a flight attendant someday and to represent the Philippines in an international pageant that promotes her advocacy.
She joined Miss Philippines Earth 2017 because she wants to be a catalyst of change, an empowered woman, and a Filipino citizen who will protect the welfare of the environment. This beauty queen from Lobo, Batangas believes that this pageant is the best platform to encourage and inspire other people and to convince them to mitigate different environmental problems.
When asked about her environmental advocacy, the Batanguenya wants to focus on EcoTravelling, which seems to originate from her love of her home town, Lobo Batangas.
“The municipality of Lobo is a hidden gem in Batangas waiting to be discovered. Lobo is rich in flora and fauna, virgin beaches and green forest. Lobo is also blessed in marine environment, mountains and other tourist destinations. My advocacy is called “EcoTravelling” – being a responsible traveler in visiting tourist spots such as forest, mountains, marine areas and beaches. To date, traveling has been one of the hobbies or recreational activity of many millennials. I would like travelers and tourist to be instilled that by visiting a place they are also responsible in helping to preserve the place. It is always our collective and individual responsibility to maintain the beauty and respect the balance of nature. Be an EcoTraveler and protect the place from possible damage, keep it unspoiled so that the next generation will be able to experience and witness the beauty our world has to offer.
